But now, device manufacturers are gradually solving technical problems, allowing us to do it ourselves with the device without having to turn to 4S stores!

Now, We will share with you the XC60 smart key programming method. The following materials are provided by the device manufacturer. The article is a bit long. Please read it patiently.

Programming device : Lonsdor K518

For the Volvo XC60, before programming the key, it is necessary to read the safety data of two modules on the vehicle. After disassembling and reading the data, the OBD is directly used to add the key (adding it is the same as all key lost).

1. CEM module (behind the passenger storage box)

2. KVM module (right side of the trunk)

There are two types of smart key: 5buitton and 6button ,433 frequency For the 5 buttons, before programming, the CEM module of the vehicle body needs to be removed to read the security data backup. For the 6button, before programming, the CEM module and KVM module of the vehicle body need to be removed, and the two modules read the security data backup.

That is to say, if5buttons, one CEM box needs to be disassembled; if 6buttons, both the CEM and KVM boxes need to be disassembled.When we are reading CEM and KVM secure data backup, we need to use the adapter, probe board RN-01 and FS-01 provided by the device.

Kindly Note: When using the adapter for the first time, you need to bind it. Connect the device to the adapter properly. On the K518 home page, go to "Settings --> Bind Adapter", and follow the prompts to successfully bind. A K518 device can bind up to 5 adapters at most. Adapters that have been bound cannot be bound to other K518 device. After one binding operation, there is no need to bind again.

Operation steps

Read CEM security data

1. The CEM of Volvo is all located to the left under the passenger airbag. After removing the passenger storage box, the appearance of the CEM box is the same, but there are new and old models (with different circuits).

Reading the Volvo CEM, please use the RN-01 board as shown in the following picture:

2. [Old Model] Open the cover. On the back of the circuit board, pay attention to the black small columns at the position of the blue circle, which are four positioning points. Align and press the white columns on the RN-01 board firmly.

Note: The circuit board is coated with insulating glue. The insulating coating at the connection points (soldering points) must be washed off with board cleaning water first; otherwise, power cannot be applied. If the pins of the RN-01 board are broken, solder wires can be made at the corresponding positions.

【 New Model 】 The circuit of the new model is different from that of the old one. It requires soldering wires to read the anti-theft data.

Read KVM security data

The KVM modules of Volvo are all located in the trunk of the car, above the right rear wheel (for the 2016 S60L model, it is recommended to remove them from the right rear door towards the wheel).
